Maria Bruun is a Danish photographer and director.

From an early age she was a passionate dancer which was an outlet for her imagination and creativity.

She began her career in 2009 following her graduation from the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance.

After a 10 year profession as a modern dancer and choreographer Maria developed a love for photography and became fascinated with the marriage of movement, story telling, lighting and dynamism in a photograph.

Across commercial and editorial work, photography and filmmaking, for Maria the camera is her tool for gaining knowledge, conveying a story or an emotion in a single moment.

To date, Maria’s work has been selected by Best Of Photo Vogue, curated by Italian Vogue (3 times), published in magazines such as MOB Journal, PUMP Magazine, HORIZONT, Flanelle Magazine, Rebel Magazine and Artells Magazine to name a few.
